“ wow. we stumbled into this place after a concert at golden gate park and wow what a find. an authentic korean hole in the wall run by ajummas - i guarantee you'll be able to taste their hard labor and love. the food was incredible, warm, and rich in flavor. the tteokbokki is a must order: pillowy, creamy, and simply to die for. they even gave us crispy potstickers on the house. they've curated such a warm, real space for delicious korean cooking. definitely a new favorite ”
“ My friends and I had a great experience here. We arrived before 6 PM, so getting seats and parking was easy. The ambiance was very homey, not too noisy. The ahjummas were very helpful with their recommendations. We tried the seafood pancake, bibim naengmyeon, samgyetang, and galbijjim, and also ordered the plain makgeolli, which was strong but still enjoyable. The seafood pancake stood out for having more protein than batter, which was a refreshing change from places that overdo the batter. My first time having samgyetang was in Korea, and I found it both refreshing and satisfying. My friends agreed it was excellent. My husband loved his bibim naengmyeon--no complaints there. The galbijjim's sauce was so delicious that we kept using our spoons to scoop it up, though the galbi could have been a bit more tender. They also treated us to some sundubu-jjigae on the house, which was a nice bonus. Overall, a great dining experience! ”
“ No frills Korean BBQ restaurant which is fine with me. I ordered the Dak Gu Ee which is boneless BBQ chicken. Portions were good enough to be at least a meal and a half for me. I appreciate the fact that the marinade they used to season gave it flavor but not too much. ”
“ Great Korean food! This spot is a no frills restaurant that serves homey Korean cooking. We came for dinner on Friday at about 5:45pm and we were seated right away. They give you a bunch of different banchans (side dishes) to accompany your meal and you can ask for refills of the banchan throughout your meal. We enjoyed all of them but especially liked the fish cake and the radish kimchi. We ordered the seafood pancake, the soft tofu soup, kimchi jjigae, and the dol sot bibimbap. Everything was excellent! The seafood pancake was big, had lots of seafood, and was very crispy. It was not oily at all which was nice because sometimes the pancakes can be oily. The soft tofu soup and kimchi jjigae came out boiling hot and both had a lot of flavor and were delicious. Definitely recommend the bibimbap in the dol sot over the regular one. When it's cooked in the dol sot, it's cooked in a stone pot so the rice has some amazing crunchy bits at the bottom. The staff at the restaurant were so nice! It seemed like it was family run. They also gave us some japchae on the house and it was very flavorful. ”
“ Sometimes I forget about Muguboka because it's on a quiet stretch of Balboa and 5th Avenue. We tried them many years ago and thought they were just okay, but came back recently to try again and thought the food greatly improved. On our most recent visit, we enjoyed the Mool Naengmyeon (Korean Cold Noodle Soup). This noodle soup is Northern Korean in origin and really delicious. The Sundubu-jjigae (soft tofu stew) and the Bbq Chicken were also yummy. Good variety of banchan. Located on Balboa St. and 5th Ave. ”
